Dc motor is a cool machine that generates electricity when we rotate its shaft. Its polarity can be easily changed for rotating in either side. When we increase the rotation of of shaft then concurrently voltage will also be increased.

Materials required for making electric generator :
This electric generator with Dc motor is made using simple materials found around our house. Some of materials needed for making this free energy from motor are :

Science Project With DC Motor Main component of our project is DC motor. We have used two 3-12 volt dc motor. You can use any type of dc motor as your availability.
- Power source for our dc motor project is adapter. You can also use batteries as per voltage for desired RPM of dc motor.
- A small white color switch is used for turning our circuit on and off.
- A small connector is needed between shaft of two dc motor. For this we have used a pulley. You can also used another type of connector such as pen, glue, etc.
- Jumper wire are used for connection our circuit.
- Led is another important component of our project. We can also use a 12 volt rated electric bulb in place of led.
(Note: Led glows in only one polarity. That is when we connect Led in opposite polarity then it do not glow. )
- Resistor is another component that comes with led. I we directly connect led with battery then led will die.
- Cardboard is used for making base and holder for led. A plywood base also can be made as your desire.
- Some of other basic materials are also needed such as hot melting glue, knife, metal scale, cutting mat, jumping wire, soldering iron, etc.
How to generate electricity from dc motor :
After collecting all the materials needed, let us start our science project. Here we have provided step by step guide to make dc motor electric generator.
- First of all let us make led holder. For this we have used cardboard. Aluminum foil is glued at the as it reflects light. We can also use one led holder from your old torch light that is not working.
- We have connected a resistor with led.
- With the help of hot melting glue this holder is glued at wooden block. Which is then glued with cardboard base. (Another type of glue can also be used such as favicol.)
- Two Dc motor are glued at the base. A pulley is used for connection shaft of these two Dc motor. Two terminals from led bulb is solder at one Dc motor. At another Dc motor terminals we solder one switch and power supply adapter is applied.
- Finally our school science project is ready for demo.

Some of them are single pole single throw switch(SPST), single pole double throw switch (SPDT), double pole single throw switch (DPST) and double pole double throw switch (DPDT) .
